Core Reading Center was founded by Dr. Melinda Bentley, whose deep passion for reading and educational equity inspired the creation of the center. She has always understood that reading is the gateway to all future learning—and that when children fall behind in reading, they often face steep challenges in every other academic area.

With a strong commitment to closing the opportunity gap, Dr. Bentley recognized a critical need: many families cannot afford private tutoring, yet their children deserve access to the same high-quality, targeted support. Core Reading Center was born from this belief—that every child, regardless of financial background, should have the opportunity to become a confident, capable reader.
